Westbury Banker Moderating a Panel at the Unmanned Systems Show in Atlanta

The Unmanned Systems Show is the preeminent American conference devoted to air-based, marine and terrestrial unmanned systems. On Monday, May 4, the first day of the conference, Jon Rubin, one of Westbury's partners, who is based out of the firm's Connecticut headquarters, will moderate a panel, Unmanned Systems and the Capital Markets. The topics of discussion will include how the industry has evolved - from the perspective of corporate transactions - over the last 24 months, the current state of the industry, and predictions for what industry segments will attract the most interest in the coming year. The discussion will provide the audience with an understanding of the dynamics driving investors and acquirers. These dynamics will include characteristics of attractive target companies as wells as "dos and don'ts" in the capital raising and M&A processes. This session will give the audience a sense of how the industry may evolve through a different and powerful lens: the perspective of capital investment. In addition to Jon Rubin, the participants will include Bob Ruszkowski, a director at Lockheed Martin, Chris Swift an attorney at Foley & Lardner LLP specializing in unmanned systems, Brad Cheetham, COO at Black Swift Technologies, a Colorado-based startup which designs and deploys specialized small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) for user-specific, customized applications, and Peter Shannon of Firelake Capital, which was an early investor in the noted unmanned systems software company, Airware.

Mr. Rubin will also be participating in Unmanned Systems Show's "Shark Tank" Panel on Tuesday,May 5. During the session, Jon and his fellow panelists, Rob Painter of Razor's Edge Ventures, and Robert Seidl of Motus Ventures will respond to the pitches of entrepreneurs, providing key insights, answering questions and posing the challenging questions that investors will ask. Don’t miss out on this excellent opportunity to hear from the investment community during this important session conveniently located in the exhibit hall.
